Haileyburia Tea Estates Limited (HTEL), was incorporated on 23rd August, 1923, by a Scottish Planter Mr. Frank Bissett, who planted Semmni Valley Tea Estate and acquired adjoining Haileyburia and Chinnar Tea Estates near Elappara Village situated at Peermade Taluk of Idukki District of Kerala. The name Haileyburia is derived from the renowned HAILEYBURY PUBLIC SCHOOL in Hertford Heath England. The three estates Semmni Valley, Chinnar and Haileyburia consist of approx 2475 acres of which approx 1600 acres is planted with Tea and 300 acres with Coffee having inter cropping of Black Pepper.

The company is lead by a professional executive and staff team under the supervision of a professional Board of Directors.
The Company provides labour and staff quarters and executive’s bungalows to its entire work force, staff and executives along with treated drinking water. The company own and operate a 30 bed Central Hospital at its Chinnar Estate alongwith two dispensaries with trained nurses and doctor and offer free medical services to its entire work force.

News And Updates
The Company’s share capital base is Rs.15,75,000 dividend into 15,75,000 equity shares of Rs.10/- each fully paid up and are in materialized form as on 31.03.2018. The Company’s shares are listed at Calcutta stock exchange.
Share Transfer process
All valid transfer requests are processed at its registered office and approved and the share certificates after transfer are returned to the transferors’ as per the governing rules.
The Company overseas the redressal of investor complaints relating to share transfers, non receipt of dividends, Annual reports etc.
Communication with Share Holders
The quarterly, Half yearly and Annual results are published in English and Malayalam Dailies. Notice of AGM with Annual Report and other General Meetings are dispatched to all share holders within the stipulated period as per Companies Act.
